Driving Operational Excellence through Intelligent Simulation

EBI Logistic delivers a sophisticated simulation-optimization digital twin designed to transform high-pressure port environments into streamlined, predictable ecosystems. By creating a high-fidelity virtual mirror of maritime operations, we enable managers to identify bottlenecks and test scheduling strategies in a risk-free environment. This project bridges the gap between complex OT data and strategic decision-making, ensuring that every vessel arrival, crane movement, and yard-truck route is optimized for both speed and sustainability.

In alignment with our mission of “Bringing Talents Back to Industry,” EBI Logistic provides port authorities and SMEs with the tools to upskill their workforce. By replacing manual, reactive scheduling with immersive 3D visualization and AI-driven insights, we transform “low-tech” perceptions into a high-tech reality that attracts and empowers the next generation of industrial talent.

Challenges · Solution · Results

01
Challenges
  • Operational Bottlenecks: Long vessel waiting times and inefficient berth allocation were stifling throughput and hurting regional profitability.
  • Systemic Congestion: Yard congestion and unoptimized truck routing led to spiraling fuel costs and safety risks for operators.
  • Strategic Blind Spots: A lack of "safe-to-fail" environments prevented managers from evaluating new sustainability or scheduling strategies before live implementation.
02
Solution
  • Integrated Digital Twin: A comprehensive simulation of the entire port lifecycle—from vessel arrival to crane operations and land-side logistics.
  • AI Optimization Engine: Custom algorithms for intelligent priority setting, dynamic crane assignment, and optimized routing.
  • Sustainability & ESG Module: Real-time tracking of fuel consumption and emissions, integrated with renewable energy performance metrics.
  • Immersive Visualization: A real-time 3D environment powered by NVIDIA Omniverse for scenario comparison and proactive management.
03
Results
  • Enhanced Throughput: Significant reduction in vessel turnaround times through predictive scheduling and optimized crane allocation.
  • Superior Resource Efficiency: Maximum utilization of berths, yard trucks, and gantry cranes, reducing idle time and mechanical wear.
  • ESG Leadership: Measurable reduction in fuel costs and CO2 emissions, directly supporting corporate decarbonization and sustainability goals.
  • Operational Transparency: Shifted management culture from reactive firefighting to proactive, data-driven orchestration.

Background & Strategic Goals

The maritime sector in the GCC is currently facing a dual challenge: the need for rapid Industry 4.0 adoption and a widening talent gap. Traditional port operations are often viewed as high-stress and low-tech, making it difficult to attract new professionals. The goal of the EBI Logistic project was to deploy a “Management & System Integration” solution that simplifies complexity. By leveraging our partnership with ALSANX and AnyLogic, we aimed to create a unified ecosystem where managers can oversee energy-intensive logistics with total clarity, ensuring that the port remains both efficient and an inspiring place to work.

Implementation & Methodology

Our implementation followed the EBI Agile framework, focusing on a fast-adoption pilot to demonstrate value in under 30 days. We integrated real-time OT data with the anyLogistix engine to model complex material flows and vessel arrivals. The core methodology centered on “Training-First Digitalization,” ensuring that port operators and managers were upskilled alongside the technology rollout. By utilizing NVIDIA Omniverse, we provided an immersive 3D interface that allows users to “see” the impact of their decisions before they are executed, blending industrial know-how with advanced simulation technology.
